Biathlon BC Cup #3 and #4

Saturday February 11th and Sunday February 12th

All are welcome to come, watch and compete in a biathlon event! Athletes of all ages from  BC, Alberta and Washington State will be coming to compete. Click here for the event webpage.

Saturday, February 11th at 11:00 am is the sprint start race. This race consists of 3 laps and 2 shooting bouts and penalties ski distances for every missed shot. The best time wins.

On Sunday, February 12th at 10:00 am is the mass start race. It includes 4 shooting bouts (3 for younger), skied penalties and 4-5 ski times. All within the same category start together, and the first over the finish line wins.

Kelowna Apple Loppet

Saturday, January 28th

The Telemark Cross Country Ski Club welcomes all skiers to the 26th Kelowna Apple Loppet. The event is open to skiers of all ages and abilities. The pursuit courses range from 400 meters to 30 kilometers. Ski as an individual or as part of a relay team. Announcer Steve King will be on hand to MC the race. Medals will be awarded, and draw prizes will be presented.

Fresh Air Experience Demonstration Day

Saturday, January 7th

Fresh Air Experience will be at the Telemark chalet with representatives from several x-c ski manufacturers. The demononstration day is an opportunity for skiers to test drive the newest models of cross country equipment at no cost,  and get the latest advice on equipment.

Postponed – Kelowna Cycle & Ski Demonstration Day

Saturday, December 17th

A cross country equipment demonstration day on Saturday December 17th is postponed. This is an opportunity for skiers to sample the newest cross country ski equipment from Kelowna Cycle & Ski at no cost, and get the advice on equipment. The event takes place at the chalet.

Fresh Air Experience 30th Annual Nordic Night

Wednesday, November 30th

The 30th annual Fresh Air Experience Nordic Night is on Wednesday, November 30th from 6pm until 9pm, at their 2070 Harvey Street location. Come and meet other members of the Okanagan Valley Nordic community, and check out the latest in nordic equipment. There will be snacks, refreshments and door prizes.

Ski Swap and Annual General Meeting

Sunday, October 30th 

The annual ski swap takes place at the chalet. Equipment drop off is at 10 am and the Ski Swap begins at 12:30. This is a excellent oppurtunity to buy new and used cross country skiing equipment or to purchase your season pass.

The Telemark CCSC Annual General Meeting begins in the lower lodge at 11:00 am.

Introduction to Community Coaching Coarse

Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29

The Introduction to Community Coaching (ICC) course will be held in the board room, next to (just left of, from Main St) Peach City Runners in Downtown Penticton from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, October 28th 2011 and from 9am to 4 pm on Saturday, October29th.

The course instructor will be Darren Derochie from Sovereign Lakes in Vernon.

Course materials and light snacks will be provided. Meals and accommodation are not included. For Telemark participants please bring a cheque for $55.00 payable to Nickel Plate Cross Country Ski Club. Telemark members who are coaching in one of our programs this year will have the course fee covered by the club.

Biathlon Demonstration Day

Saturday, October 22 10:30 am until 1:00 pm 

Come and join us for our first biathlon demonstration day of the season. Meet the coaches and many of the athletes, learn a little about biathlon and give it a try! This is a dry-land demonstration day, so you can leave your skis at home. Park in the Telemark parking lot and follow the signs to the biathlon range. 

  A $5 fee covers the Biathlon Canada insurance for the day activity, but if you bring more than $5 of non perishable food items for the Food Bank one of our sponsors will cover your $ 5 fee. This safe event is open to all ages. There will be coffee, treats and a BBQ.
